How might we design an interface that is unique, but still connects to the overall brand AND is flexible enough to work with numerous sub-brands?
Miami Sound Space, a dedicated community choir organization, sought to revitalize its online presence to better serve its members and attract new participants. This case study highlights the journey of redesigning their website to enhance the user experience for all stakeholders.
With the help of the director and the administrative team, we conducted surveys and interviews with choir members, potential participants, and website visitors to identify pain points and gather feedback.
With our goals identified and processes mapped, we moved into the next phase of actually building the site starting with some rough sketches and charts. Below is a site map with the revised information architecture I revised and some sample sketches I used to wire out the updated registration and member sign up experience.
Take a look at the redesigned pages. It was important to the client to maintain a very "Miami" look and feel with the blue, pink, and yellow colors. Also, incorporating some beach vibes with some wave elements with big, bold shapes. Friendly, quirky fonts with a little flare.
For the relaunch of the site, we needed to figure out a better way to have members join.
Working with this organization was wonderful and dealing with the client was easy and collaborative. Very exciting when the site went live! Preview the site here.
Something I learned... online web building platforms can have limitations in functionality which can make it complicated to accomplish specific goals.
